Religion of Choice

24 Mar

I went to a concert this week of an artist most people know: Santana. The concert was amazing, but it was the words he spoke that were inspiring.

Santana talked about love and feeling free, which is how I feel most of the time, but what really captured my ears, was when he asked atheists to raise their hands in the crowd. The crowd started booing, but he stopped them and said that we are a people of choice. Therefore, if we choose to be spiritual, then that means that we accept and love all choices even atheism.

Profound. I believe in loving and respecting all choices, no matter religion or beliefs or thoughts. It is this choice that makes us special and gives us greatness within. Without choice, we would be like robots that are programmed to think one way.

So I encourage you to live a life of choice and freedom and to encourage others to do the same. We are individuals, meaning that we are each different and unique, and when we come together, we are strong in our numbers, because we all have greatness within us.
